Community Class

All Levels

Community class is donation based instruction that changes based on the instructor and who attends. We want this to be a place that those who are new to, can’t regularly afford, or are regulars of True North Yoga and Wellness classes come together and enjoy the teachings of yoga and meditation.

Restorative Yoga

All Levels

Restorative yoga is the yoga of deep relaxation and renewal. By accepting the support of bolsters, blankets, and blocks, we settle into poses for a longer period of time, allowing the body to come to a place of ease. This practice offers the opportunity to quiet the mind and heal the body, calming nervous system and releasing deeply held tensions from body and mind.

Breathwork and Meditation

All Levels

During this class, you will take a step back from everything going on and learn the skills to stay in the present. Through pranayama (breathing) and meditation, you will learn to calm the mind, finding a deeper sense of relaxation and introspection.

Yin Yoga

All Levels

Yin yoga is a slower-paced practice, appropriate for new yogis and a beneficial balance for those who already do other forms of yoga. It’s also lovely for athletes-runners, bicyclists, or anyone who tends to hold tightness in the body. The focus is on relaxing the muscles of the body to allow for lengthening and strengthening the connective tissue, resulting in improved flexibility, increased circulation, and a calmer mind. Beginning with gentle warm-up stretches to ease the body into stillness, then moving mindfully into a series of floor poses, always taking the time to find just the right amount of stretch, settle into stillness, stay for awhile (often several minutes), and release with gentleness. Expect to leave feeling deeply relaxed and flexible.

Prenatal Yoga

All Levels

Prenatal Yoga uses postures and breathing to help ease pregnancy, delivery, and after effects of birth. This creates strength, focus, flexibility and awareness through a practice designed especially for the pregnant woman’s needs. True North is a community-based space; we see this as a great way to meet other soon-to-be mothers who will continue to be connected long after the class is over.

Meridian & Alignment Yoga
